Mother and Baby Mental Health Unit referrals

The Fiona Stanley Hospital Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) is an eight-bed inpatient unit located in the Fiona Stanley Hospital Mental Health Unit.

The MBU provides treatment for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or psychosis in late pregnancy and during the postnatal period.

Referrals are accepted from any medical practitioner or healthcare professional.

Prior to completing the referral form (PDF 49KB) medical and healthcare professionals are asked to phone the MBU to discuss the referral.

The referring health professional will then be asked to complete the MBU referral form and fax it to the MBU. Each referral is discussed with the multi-disciplinary team, and the referrer will be contacted to discuss the outcome.
