Learn about the research potential offered by machines and devices capable of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, nanotechnology, bioinformatics and more at a day of events highlighting world class research conducted across South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS).

The SMHS Research Showcase 2019 – Technology in Research: Exploring a World of Possibility – is being held on Thursday 28 November 2019 at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The day will commence with a CSIRO breakfast forum, followed by a range of presentations and expos about the use of technology in innovation and research. All events are free to attend.

A highlight of this year’s showcase is the ‘Consumers in Research’ session during which three experienced consumer representatives will discuss how engaging consumers in research can facilitate successful outcomes. Presenters for this session include:

  • Pip Brennan – Executive Director,Health Consumer’s Council
  • Ben Horgan – consumer advocate, SMHS
  • Tony White – burn survivor.
